FLAME DRINKS
MEET CARIS ROANE
Caris Roane is the New York Times bestselling author of thirty-three paranormal romance books. Writing as Valerie King, she's published fifty novels and novellas in Regency Romance. Caris lives in Phoenix, Arizona, loves gardening, enjoys the birds and lizards in her yard, but really doesn’t like scorpions!
Anyone who stalks us on Facebook (stalk us HERE) knows that we love our Thirsty Thursdays. Playing amateur Mixologists is one of our favorite past times and if this writing gig doesn’t work out, we’re pretty sure we can make it as bartenders (LOL). So when NY Times Bestselling Author, Caris Roane, asked us to make some fabulous drinks for the books in her Flame series, we couldn't resist. Our response was "Flame Drinks...Um, YEAH!" Now, we have added pyromaniacs to our resume. Brenda has yet to grow back her eyebrows, but the fun we had was well worth the loss of hair.
We wanted to make something deliciously sinful with just the right amount of sweet and spice. Seemed appropriate, given the seductive magic and man-candy Caris writes about in her awesome series. So after many trips to the liquor store, standing in awkward positions in the dark with our trusty phone cameras and a flashlight, we created the Flame Drinks. Of course, the cool magical props and post production helped create an unforgettable image, but what really did the trick was the bottle of 151 we expended getting just the right flame, and the glitter that still covers our hands.
We hope you have as much fun tasting this little bit of liquid loveliness as much as we did making it. ENJOY!

These drinks are NOT meant to be lit on fire. We did this only for effect and some sweet pictures. Don't ever light a drink on fire without professional guidance! And if you do decide to light up a drink, put the fire out before drinking!
All three of us ask you to PLEASE DRINK RESPONSIBLY and DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!
Much like the heat between Border Patrol Officer Connor and the powerful witch, Iris Meldeere this drink will set your taste buds afire. A yummy concoction with just the right amount of tequila and the wickedly delicious Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur. Our Blood Flame is as smooth to look at as it is to drink. We recommend fresh blood orange juice if you can find it. If not, we found some great blood orange soda at World Market. Pelligrino also makes a good blood orange sparkling drink.
In addition, Caris said that the Solerno over vanilla ice cream was fantastic. Awesome idea and we cant wait to try it!

By far our favorite drink so far, the inspiration for this mix of hypnotic goodness is when Vampire Officer Vaughn of the Crescent Border Patrol gets called to a triple homicide in a deadly place called the Graveyard. When he finds that Emma Delacey has been summoned to the same crime scene, warning bells sound.
The combination of the Viniq and grape vodka make this look like a swirling witches cauldron. Mesmerizing. Put all ingredients in a shaker an pour into your favorite spell casting vessel.
The dark world of Five bridges is the perfect backdrop for this wicked concoction. If you want to immerse yourself in a great story, hit the link below to grab a copy on Amazon or add to your Goodreads shelf. You'll be glad you did!
The lemonade, kinky blue vodka and blue caracao make this a subtle fruity almost pineapple-y cocktail with plenty of kick from the vodka. We like Tito's because it's made here in Austin and it is so smooth. Perfect for a hot summer day, we preferred this one over ice. We tried it both ways, of course, just to be sure :)
We had to have a few of these after Officer Robert Brannick discovers that the beautiful fae woman, Juliet, has seduced him in the infamous dreamglide but he has no memory of it. As images of their time together start to rise to his conscious mind, he's stunned to discover an affair five months long and completely illegal under Five Bridges's law.
